🚀 Quick Implementation Guide

For Frontend Developers

// Step 1: Receive card from ABHA verify response
const response = await fetch('/abha/verify', { /* ... */ });
const data = await response.json();

// Step 2: Get card data
const cardBase64 = data.card_base64;
const cardContentType = data.card_content_type || 'image/png';

// Step 3: Create displayable URL
const dataUrl = `data:${cardContentType};base64,${cardBase64}`;

// Step 4: Display in HTML
document.getElementById('abhaCardImage').src = dataUrl;

For Backend Developers

// Card data is automatically extracted by:
// 1. extractAbhaCardData($result) → returns Base64 string
// 2. resolveAbhaCardContentType($result) → returns "image/png"
// 3. resolveAbhaCardSource($result) → returns "abdm" or "provisional"

// Already implemented in:
// - Abha::verifyOtp()
// - Abha::verifyCommOtp()

🐛 Troubleshooting

Card Not Displaying?

  1. Check if card_base64 is in response
  2. Verify card_content_type is set
  3. Inspect browser console for JS errors
  4. Check CSS for display/visibility issues

Card Download Not Working?

  1. Ensure data URL is properly formatted
  2. Check browser console for errors
  3. Verify href attribute on download link
  4. Test in different browser

"Provisional Card" Warning?

  1. This is correct - bridge-generated cards show this
  2. Only official ABDM cards show no warning
  3. Both types are functional

📈 Performance

Metric Value
Response Time Normal
Card Data Size ~10-15 KB (Base64)
PNG File Size ~7-11 KB (decoded)
Processing Time <1 second
Cache Duration Session

🔐 Security Notes

  1. Card Base64: Safe to store in session
  2. Data URL: Safe for img src attribute
  3. Download: Initiates native browser download
